Illusion of Luanda (Lv 160+)
Illusion of Luanda is a daily EXP and Illusion Stone dungeon, and it works differently from every other map on the server: it only ever holds one of two monster factions at a time, and it swaps between them.
That single rule is behind almost every question about this place. If you took a request and the monsters for it are nowhere on the map, nothing is broken. The map is simply on the other faction right now.
Getting in
Go to Comodo beach dungeon 2 (beach_dun2) and touch the softly glowing blue totem at 248, 254. You need Base Level 160. Below that the totem refuses you.
Inside, the Request Board is at 238, 266 and Defense Manager Luanda, who takes your finished work, stands at 241, 255.
The two factions
| Megalith side | Wootan side | |
|---|---|---|
| Regular monsters | Ancient Tri Joint, Ancient Stalactic Golem, Ancient Megalith | Ancient Stone Shooter, Ancient Wootan Shooter, Ancient Wootan Fighter |
| Token they drop | Token of Bigstone | Token of Wootan |
| Boss | Ancient Tao Gunka | Ancient Wootan Defender |
Only one column exists on the map at any moment. There is no schedule, no clock and no rotation timer you can look up.
How the map swaps
The swap is driven by everyone hunting there, not by time:
- Every regular monster killed adds to a single shared counter for the whole server.
- When that counter reaches 1,500 kills, the current faction's boss appears at the spot where the last monster died, and shouts across the map so everyone knows.
- When the boss dies, every monster on the map is cleared and the other faction moves in immediately.
- A two hour cooldown then runs. During it the counter keeps climbing but no new boss can appear, so the map stays on its current faction for at least two hours.
Two practical consequences:
- You cannot force a swap on your own in any reasonable time. 1,500 kills is a community effort.
- After a server restart the map always starts on the Megalith side, whatever it was showing before.
The four daily requests
Talk to the Request Board. It offers four:
| Request | What it wants |
|---|---|
| Evidence to Fight Megaliths | 3x Token of Bigstone |
| Evidence of Fighting the Utans | 3x Token of Wootan |
| Operation of Geosokki | Kill 5 each of the three Megalith monsters |
| Operation of Utans | Kill 5 each of the three Wootan monsters |
Each one you hand to Luanda pays 1 Illusion Stone, plus 4,300,000 Base EXP and 2,800,000 Job EXP. Hand in several at once and you are paid for each.
The single most useful tip
The board has an "Accept all quests" option. Use it. Take all four every time.
Two of the four always match whatever faction is currently on the map, so you can start immediately, and the other two sit quietly in your quest log waiting. When the map swaps you finish those too. The hunting requests have no timer of their own, so nothing is lost by holding them.
Taking only the pair that matches today is exactly how people end up staring at an empty map after a swap.
Cooldown, and a wrong message
After you complete a request it goes on a four hour cooldown before you can take that same one again.
Be aware that Luanda's own dialogue says the quest "can be done again tomorrow". That text is wrong. The real wait is four hours, so check back the same day rather than waiting until the next one.
Why the monsters "disappeared"
To put the common reports in plain terms:
- "I took the Megalith request but there are only Wootans." The map swapped. Keep the request, take the Wootan ones too, and finish the Megalith work after the next swap.
- "The monsters all vanished at once and different ones appeared." Someone killed the boss. That is the swap, and it is supposed to look like that.
- "A boss appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the map." The shared counter hit 1,500. It spawns wherever the last monster fell, which is why it never appears in the same place twice.
- "My hunting count is not going up." The monsters you need are not the faction currently on the map. Your progress is safe and resumes after the swap.
