War & Hunting Stats
Every character on DewataRO has two independent stat builds: a Hunting build and a War build. You switch between them with one button, and only one is active at a time.
Why two? On DewataRO you can buy stat points for Zeny — great for farming, terrible for fair PvP. So war content runs on a separate build that only uses the points your levels earned. Your wallet powers your farming; only your build craft wins your wars.
The Two Builds at a Glance
| 🏹 Hunting | ⚔ War | |
|---|---|---|
| Points come from | Levels plus Stat Trainer purchases | Levels only |
| Active | Everywhere, by default | Forced on war maps; anywhere else by choice |
| Stat Trainer | Purchases land here | Refuses to sell while War is active |
| Reset Girl | Destructive reset behind explicit consent — bought points destroyed | Stats / Traits / Both, reset freely |
Skills are not split — you have one skill tree, one set of gear, one inventory. Only the twelve stat values (STR–LUK and POW–CRT) and their point pools differ between builds.
The WAR / HUNT Button
Open your stat window (Alt+A). The button sits at the top-right corner:
| Button shows | Meaning |
|---|---|
| HUNT (tan) | Hunting build active — purchases included |
| ⚔ WAR (red) | War build active — level-earned points only |
While War is active you also get a status icon in your buff bar ("WAR STATS active"), so you can always tell at a glance. Clicking the button switches instantly: your stats, HP/SP and damage recalculate on the spot. The choice persists through relogs.
One exception: on a war map the server locks you to War — the button won't switch you back to Hunting until you leave.
Where Each Build Applies
- WoE castle — Kriemhild (
prtg_cas01): War is forced automatically the moment you enter, always, not just during WoE hours. Everyone in the castle fights on level-earned points; bought stats never enter. The same applies to the PvP Arena. - Thanatos F11 Chaos Zone (
tha_t11): PK is on there, but it is deliberately a Hunting map — it's a farming zone first. - PvP Arena (
dewata_pvp): War is forced automatically, exactly like the castle — every arena fight runs on level-earned points. - Everywhere else: your choice. Hunting is normally the stronger build (it includes everything you bought), so that's what you'll farm with.
Building Your War Stats
- In town, press the button to switch to ⚔ WAR. The first time, your war build starts fresh: all stats at 1 and a full pool of level-earned points.
- Allocate in the stat window like normal. Because war stats start at 1, points go a long way — you are pricing from the bottom of the cost curve, not on top of purchases.
- Your war pool is the same for everyone of your level and class tier: at Lv 275 that's 4,099 status points, with +52 extra for transcendent-line classes (the 13 primary 4th jobs included). Expanded classes (Sky Emperor, Soul Ascetic, Shinkiro/Shiranui, Night Watch, etc.) follow the base table. Trait points for 4th-tier classes are likewise level-earned only.
Buying Stats
The Stat Trainer only ever feeds your Hunting build:
- Buy a point of STR and it appears in Hunting; your War build does not move.
- While ⚔ WAR is active the Trainer refuses to sell at all — press HUNT first.
Resetting Stats
The Reset Girl stat services reset whichever build is active when you talk to her:
- War reset (safe): with ⚔ WAR active, Reset Stats / Reset Traits / Reset Both reset only the war build — every level-earned point returns to your war pool and you re-allocate from scratch. Nothing bought is involved, so nothing bought is at risk.
- Hunting reset (destructive): with HUNT active she will reset your stats too, but only after an explicit agreement — every point you ever bought from the Stat Trainer is destroyed, permanently, with no refund. The rebuilt pool contains level-earned points only.
- Reset Skills and Guild Skill Reset work in either mode, since skills are shared.
Existing Characters
Nothing to claim, nothing to migrate: the first time you logged in after the update, the build you already had — earned points and purchases alike — became your Hunting build, exactly as it was. Your War build simply starts fresh, the same as everyone else's.
Fine Print
- Rebirth (or any job change that resets stats) re-seeds both builds — your allocations start over, and bought points do not carry over (not re-applied, not refunded). Stat cost scales with your current value, so carrying a high bought base into a fresh level-1 character would cripple every point it earns afterward — buy from the Stat Trainer after rebirth, not before. The Reset Girl's Hunting reset also destroys bought points (behind an explicit agreement); her War reset never does.
- Points cannot be moved between builds, in either direction.
- Switching builds never touches skills, gear, buffs or items — only the stat values and pools swap.
