Card Recycling

Every farmer ends up with a box of cards nobody wants. The Card Master takes them off your hands and presses them into card albums, so a pile of Poring and Fabre cards becomes a roll at something you might actually wear.

He is the same NPC who removes cards from your gear: prt_in 30,73, two cells from the Wise Old Woman. The three Training Grounds copies offer it too.

The two tiers

Give Get What is inside
20 spare cards Old Card Album The broad pool: 748 ordinary cards
60 spare cards Magic Card Album The short list of 85 strong ones, including Ghostring, Angeling, Deviling, Gryphon and Dark Illusion

Cards of any kind count together. Twenty different cards work exactly like twenty of the same one, so you never have to farm a specific monster to make up the number.

Both albums are sealed: what comes out is chance, not choice.

What he will not take

  • Cards already set into your gear. Those are part of the item, not loose cards, so they are never in reach. If you want one back, use his other service and remove it first.
  • Anything in storage. Only what you are carrying counts. Withdraw first.
  • Cards sold at the Equipment Mall. Those 169 are excluded on purpose, so nobody can buy the cheap shelf and press it straight back into an album. If a card is ever added to the Mall, it leaves recycling the same day.

That leaves 793 recyclable cards: everything monsters actually drop, minus the Mall list.

Read the warning

The cards you hand over are destroyed. There is no undo and no way to buy them back. The Card Master tells you the exact number leaving your inventory and asks a second time before he does anything, and "yes" is deliberately not the first option on that menu. Read it rather than pressing Enter through it.

If you are holding a card you might want later, put it in storage before you talk to him. He cannot reach it there.
